TRANSMISSION
CHAMBER ORCHESTRA COURSE
JAN. 4-9, 2027

A new intensive chamber orchestra course in Montreal.
TRANSMISSION is collectif9’s new program for emerging artists: a one-week intensive chamber orchestra course, combining rehearsals, workshops, and mentoring, culminating in a public concert at Espace Jax in Montréal. Participants will perform alongside 5 members of collectif9, gaining professional experience in rehearsal and in concert as well as a practical understanding of the ensemble’s creative priorities and preparation.
The final concert programme is based around two masterpieces infused with cultural richness. The self-led chamber orchestra will perform Zipangu, a seminal work by the iconic Quebec composer Claude Vivier, as well as Turkish pianist-composer Fazıl Say’s dramatic Chamber Symphony.
This is a pilot project, and in this context, the training course is exceptionally tuition-free.
