In concert at Salle Bourgie

Our first concert at the magnificent Salle Bourgie (Montreal) will take place on April 22nd! We are very excited to present Musique sur passacaille, a fascinating program that explores contrasting musical styles, all rooted by the characteristic repetitive bass lines of the passacaglia. Works from the early 20th century to the present day will resonate with a passacaglia written 400 years ago by Girolamo Frescobaldi. Among them, pieces by György Ligeti and Caroline Shaw push the boundaries of the genre, while Rose Bolton's piece leads us into a meditative state: all to the rhythm of the continuous pulse of an unchanging bass.
